Comments: It's the first practice session in Malaysia, and all the teams are out for their very own evaluation and assessment, collecting useful data and information. As the starting time of the qualifying and race this weekend is at late afternoon (1700hrs, Singapore Time), and also with possible chance of rain, there might be a good chance to mix up the grid. Usual suspect with the diffuser teams on a slight upper hand.

Comments: Both Ferrari 1-2 for Friday Practice 2. They could have probably find a good setup for the car here in Malaysia. However, it's still too early to tell as different team were doing their own evaluations and lap times are not to be read too deeply. Notice that both BMWs were not on pace for both Friday Rractice sessions. They might be struggling with grips or they are simply doing their own data collection, since testing is ban during the season.
